As I’m writing this I’m on my way to my penultimate day of work before my usual three week summer vacation starts. And no matter how much I’m currently enjoying my day job and all the benefits and interesting challenges it provides me with very few things feel better than completely disconnecting from work for a few weeks, only focusing on myself and the family.
I’m not usually great at disconnecting and I’m constantly on to a certain degree, so getting to mute all Teams notifications and entirely ignore my work email for three weeks is definitely going to be good for me.
As I’ve written about previously we recently bought a house, which is obviously quite expensive, so we can’t afford any major travel plans this summer so we’re planning just a few one day trips here and there. In addition we still have some renovation work that needs to be wrapped up, so having some extra time to get those boxes closed is going to be great.
And as always during my summer vacation I’m looking forward to having more time and energy to put into my personal and creative projects.
