I happened upon this post from David when browsing Bubbles and thought it was an interesting question, so I figured I chime in. Who knows that I blog? Of the people I know and interact with regularly in person I can think of exactly two people that know I have a blog—my missus and one of my closest friends who I share a lot of interests in common with.
Beyond those two particular people I’ve never really felt the need to share the fact that I have this blog with anyone in my life. Other people might know about it for sure. The URL of this website is my real name after all, and there is a link to this website on multiple social media accounts and other places so it’s not like it is hard to discover. Though I doubt anyone in my family or extended group of friends and acquaintances have ever visited this site. If they have no one has mentioned it.
I have no real reason for not sharing the fact of this blog with anyone. I have no shame about anything I post here, I subscribe to the same Town Square-principle that David mentions in their post. But I do enjoy having this space to myself in a way, separate from the rest of my life.
And like Kev mentioned in his reply to this post, I just don’t think most people in my life would care to read anything I post here. Multiple other people have replied to this post as well, you should go read them.
