New Artwork: Radio Silence

It doesn’t happen often that I wrap up a piece that I’m working on and as I press that export button in Photoshop I think to myself: “Yeah, that’s pretty damn good!” But this was definitely one of those instances. There weren’t any super complicated techniques or anything special involved with creating this image, but I’m really, really proud of the final result and I feel like that’s important to acknowledge.

You can grab a portrait and landscape version of the image in full resolution for free on my Ko-Fi page!

I estimate I spent about 6-7 hours creating this image. Quite a bit of that time was spent wondering if I should just abandon the whole damn thing and move on to something else. Most of the pieces you see in the final image were there, but something about it just wasn’t doing it for me. What finally made it click for me was simply moving the camera to a different position to get a more interesting angle. Sometimes that’s all it takes to elevate something from average to good.

There are certainly still some stuff I would like to improve. Much of it comes down to my lack of comfort and knowledge with Photoshop. I absolutely think there is a lot for me to gain by getting better at post-processing my renders, and hopefully, I’ll do that in 2024.

For now, it’s time to move on to the next new thing.
