I’m currently enjoying a week off work for winter vacation and since we didn’t have any major plans for this week I thought I’d spend the time to make some upgrades to this website that I’ve been wanting to get to for a while. I’m really enjoying the state that this place is in right now, and it feels like things are in the right place for adding features and fun!

The main thing I’ve been working on is setting up pages for tracking the books I’ve read and movies I’ve watched. I don’t particularly enjoy most of the media tracking apps out there, so I figured why not just do it here on my own site where I can have more control over everything. Right now I have a page for Books and one for Movies, I’ll definitely also add TV shows at some point. They are all in chronological order based on when I last read the book or watched the movie. You can click on the cover to see slightly more info like the score I’ve given it and who the author/director is. I might expand the details page in the future, but it does the job for now. I’m not much of a reviewer so I’ll probably just stick with the 1-5 stars scoring-system.

I also added a section to the bottom of my home page that shows the most recent items from both the books and movies categories combined.

I have yet to spend the time to add much in terms of historical data, though I might get around to that eventually. I don’t have great records for most of the things I’ve watched or read but I do have some and it would be nice to have it all stored here on this site at some point. It’s a terribly boring task though, so I need to be in the right mood if I want to do it.

Apart from that I’ve updated my /uses page and my /about page slightly. Though my /about page still needs to be fleshed out quite a bit.

I’m aware that right now there is no good way to navigate to either the Books or the Movies page. I’m working on it.
