As I’m writing this iOS 26 is about an hour or so away from launching in my area, and as I always do with major OS releases I plan on hitting that update button as soon as it’s available.

I’ve avoided the betas because I don’t need that extra complication in my life, but I was more tempted this year than any time previously to jump on the beta-train to get to see what all the ruckus has been about. With opinions online ranging from “hot glassy garbage” to “actually pretty nice”, I’m very curious to see what the experience of using iOS 26 myself is going to be like.

I’m certainly less excited than I usually am on OS update-day, and from what I’ve seen I suspect the OS could have used a bit more time in the oven before release. Too late for that now, though.
