It took a little longer than I would have hoped, but a few days ago I finally finished my first proper piece for the new year. What I had in mind going into this was something on a larger scale and with lots of trees since I had just purchased the Alpha Trees addon for Blender. And so this is what I ended up with. It is hardly the most intricate piece, but I’m fairly happy with the result, and I want to move on to the next one so I can keep improving.
What I’m looking to improve on most in the coming months are my Photoshop skills and my speed. From start to finish this piece took me about 8-10 hours over three days, which is surprisingly fast for me as I’m quite slow when it comes to putting these images together. And if I can manage to get more comfortable utilizing Photoshop I know that I’ll eventually be able to create better art, faster.
So, on to the next one. Hopefully, it won’t be too far away.
