Recently I’ve been wanting to get back into making some music. The thought has been in the back of my head for a little while now as a thing that I’ve been missing in my life. I’ve never been much of a musician but ever since I was a kid I’ve been playing around with making music in one form or another. It’s a thing I enjoy doing.
The first thing I did was to install FL Studio on my new laptop. But controlling a DAW with just the mouse and a keyboard just isn’t the optimal way for me to get my idea out of my brain and into the computer. I have a MIDI synth sitting in storage, but it’s much too large and I’ve been thinking about selling it. So after mulling it over for a few days I went ahead and bought myself an Arturia MiniLab 3.
I’ve been playing around with it for a few days now and the MiniLab 3 is a wonderful little MIDI controller. Music making will never been the “main” thing that I do, but it’s nice to once again have the option to sit down and play around with sounds and drums and try to make something happen.
Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually finish a track and share it with the world.
