So, if you somehow missed it, the new iPhone 17 line was just announced last night to all the usual Apple fanfare. I wasn’t really paying that much attention to the keynote when it was live, but from what little I did watch and the absolute mountain of blog posts published following the event it seems like the iPhone 17 might be pretty good.
As a pretty heavy phone user I’ve spent the last few months wondering if I should spend the money on an upgrade this year. I’m currently rocking an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and while it is still a good phone it’s lacking some of the new features that came with the iPhone 15 and 16, and the battery life is starting to approach the stage where it is causing a slight inconvenience in my day to day operations.
Now, I’m a Pro Max-boy. Always have been and (probably) always will be. And though it is quite obvious that Apple is copying Google’s homework with the design of the new Pro phones, I quite like how they look. And the fact that the Pro lineup finally got an actually good looking color option with the orange makes the case for upgrading this year even more tempting.
I’m still undecided on what I’m going to do on Friday, but I’m leaning heavily towards putting in my order for the 17 Pro Max. I still have some time to think about it, but I know myself well enough to know how this is probably going to play out.
I mean, that orange just looks really nice.
